Panic
By Molly Boyce


close your eyes tight,
now, hush all your screams,
but when they crowd back in,
twisted and curled inside
your tight little twine ball chest

understand, it is time to turn loose,
let the world go spinning away,
but how? when your heart
pounds, hands shake, feet stumble
mouth engages, sleep fades,

and husbands curse the day
they married you

When I was struggling to make sense of my symptoms I found poetry and art.  My two friends have helped me through some dark days.  When others did not know how to relate, they were there to show me the way.  How glad I am to have them in my life.
