In starting this forum, members might like to shear how they cope with pain… What works for you and a brief description would be helpful… With time I hope we will have a smorgasbord of self help ways to try to cope plus a better understanding of real pain…
hi mike - know what it's like living with pain day in and day out docs. have told me that there isn't anything that will take the pain away but it may just make it more bareable, just about the time i figure well i can live with that they cut off one of my legs and give me more pain that any normal person would go nuts with.

I find heat helps. I often lie on hot water bottles, or a microwaved wheat bag or heated underblanket is safer. Also if muscles are bit more relaxed.. I like a brandy and coke in the evening or in winter have a small dash of brandy in a hot toddy (usually coffee and whisky but I don't like them) I do hot chocolate made with milk and a splash of brandy in the bottom!
Warms you up from the inside and no side effects like muscle relaxants! (well. other than getting drunk if you have too many!) ;0)
Thank you all for your replies, it helps to have others prospective and ways to help cope with pain... At present I'm trying to look at my pain holistically and considering alternative therapies plus homeopathy medicine with regular massage.
Every comment is truly appreciated. Mike
